The rules for using MyGroom.

These terms govern your use of MyGroom ("MyGroom", "we", "us"), an app for tracking the care of horses, dogs and cats, operated by Oliver Paterson, a sole trader based in the UK, whether accessed on the web or through the App Store or Google Play. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using MyGroom you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

2. Description of service

MyGroom helps you track profiles, care events, health records, feeding and cost information, and activity for your horses, dogs and cats, and offers optional weather-based guidance (rug recommendations, risk alerts), dosage information, and training plans based on what you log.

This guidance is informational only and is not veterinary, training or professional instruction advice. Rug recommendations, risk alerts, dosage suggestions, training plans and any similar guidance in the app are not a substitute for the judgement of a vet, qualified instructor, trainer or other professional who can assess your animal and its actual circumstances in person. Always consult a vet for health, medication or welfare decisions, a qualified instructor for ridden or technical training, and use your own judgement about your animal, its environment and the conditions on the day.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a MyGroom account. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed without your permission.

5. Subscriptions and billing

MyGroom offers a free plan and a paid "Pro" plan with additional limits and features. Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store, Google Play, or our website (billed via RevenueCat).

Payment is charged to the account you subscribe through (your Apple ID, Google account, or card on file), which also handles renewal, cancellation and refunds under its own terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, managed through your App Store, Google Play, or web account settings — not by contacting MyGroom directly.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google for purchases made through their stores, in line with their own refund policies. MyGroom doesn't process App Store/Play Store refunds directly.
Prices may change; we'll give notice before any change affects an active subscription.

6. Monthly prize draw

Each calendar month we draw one winner at random from everyone eligible, and buy them something from their own supplement list. No purchase is necessary to enter or win:

Pro accounts are entered automatically each month, with no separate action needed.
Anyone — Pro or not — can also enter for free from the app. One free entry per person per calendar month.
Every entrant, free or Pro, has exactly the same odds of winning — the draw doesn't weight or favour paying accounts.
You must have at least one supplement logged in the app to be eligible, since the prize is chosen from your own list — this applies equally regardless of how you entered.
The winner is notified via the email on their account.
We may end or change this promotion at any time, with notice in the app.

7. Your content and community conduct

You keep ownership of the content you add to MyGroom — animal profiles, photos, posts, comments and the like. By posting content visible to other users (community features), you grant MyGroom a licence to store and display it as part of operating the service.

You agree not to:

Post content that's unlawful, abusive, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
Use the app to spam, scrape, or interfere with its normal operation
Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorisation

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, or that we reasonably believe put other users or the service at risk.

8. Affiliate links

MyGroom is a member of the Amazon Associates programme. Reorder and shop links may earn MyGroom a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. MyGroom isn't responsible for products, pricing, or availability on Amazon's site.

9. Intellectual property

The MyGroom app, its design, and its underlying software are owned by MyGroom or its licensors. Except for your own content, nothing in these terms gives you rights to MyGroom's branding, code or design beyond what's needed to use the app normally.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, or if we reasonably need to for legal, security or operational reasons. Retention and deletion of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

MyGroom is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any weather-based, dosage, or other guidance it provides will be accurate for your specific animal or situation.

To the extent permitted by law, MyGroom isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including loss connected to decisions made about an animal's care based on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you may also have rights under the law of your country of residence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know in the app.
